Gardner statement on latest jobs report

COLO. - Congressman Cory Gardner (R-CO) released the following statement on this morning's employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the month of September:

“The President has been desperately trying to lower our expectations of the economic recovery because he’s failed at turning things around, and today is no exception.  While the jobs report offers some encouraging news, the unemployment rate remains unacceptably high.  The ‘real unemployment rate’, which includes people who have given up looking for work all together, is 11 percent.  This is not what  we were promised when President Obama signed the stimulus in 2009, and the American people should not settle for President Obama’s lackluster economic recovery.”

Congressman Gardner is a member in the U.S. House of Representatives serving Colorado's 4th Congressional District. He sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee and is a member of the following Subcommittees: Communications and Technology, Energy and Power, and Oversight and Investigations.
