Gardner Statement on Inauguration
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman Cory Gardner (CO-4) released the following statement about President Obama’s inauguration:
"I congratulate President Obama on another term and look forward to working on a stronger nation that addresses our challenges - not ignores them. As the President talks about reducing spending, I hope he will join House Republicans in our efforts to put Washington on budget.
“It has been four years since the United States Senate passed a budget. That is why we are pushing legislation that will require each chamber pass a budget and member pay will be withheld if they don't. While the President did not mention the need for a budget in his speech today, I hope we can count on his support for the principle that no budget means no pay."
