Gardner Comments on EAGLE-Net

Washington, DC - Rep. Cory Gardner (CO-04) released the following statement upon learning that the EAGLE-Net CEO made remarks today saying additional money is required to complete their work:

“After taking 100 million dollars of taxpayer money and overbuilding existing networks, including building infrastructure in Denver, EAGLE-Net now needs a bailout of 25 million dollars. EAGLE-Net has laid an egg, and it’s a rotten one for the taxpayers.

“I commend the legislative audit committee for trying to get answers. It is repugnant that EAGLE-Net is refusing to give them. They are losing money, asking for a bailout, and it’s time that they be honest with the people of Colorado and the taxpayers of this country."
